If you’re over the age of 25 you probably watched Nickelodeon in the 80’s. Which means you probably watched Mr. Wizard’s World. Don Herbert was Mr. Wizard since 1951 when he started the show on NBC. And then again in 1983 on Nickelodeon. But I can not do the man justice here fortunately you can go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Wizard and read about him. I use to watch Mr. Wizard’s World every morning before school. Its were I got my love for science and asking “WHY” and wanting to know how things worked. He made it so cool and so fun that I loved it. I learned everything from the properties of helium, the uses of leavers, pulleys, wedges and wheels, and optical illusions. I really wanted to be “Jimmy” at one time. Hey I was five. On June 12 2007, Don Herbert passed away from cancer. He was one month shy from his 90th birthday. For all the young scientist who were inspired to learn, and make cool shit out of household items, we will miss you.

We all have been waiting since 1984 to see a live action movie of our favourite toy/cartoon and … OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! What a great movie. The action was awesome. It was a total Michael Bay film. Tons of action and explosions but it worked with the way they made Transformers. Autobots and Decepticons kicking the crap out of each other. Shooting each other and punching and kicking each other. When Optimus Prime drives up and transforms it was so cool. WOW. When he says “Autobots Roll Out” I had chills. When Prime and Megatron first face off I imagined I was 7 again and was playing with my friends in his kitchen. BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

If any of you watch wrestling (WWE) or for those of you that don’t…the “sport” lost a great wrestler, and I mean wrestler, and a great competitor Chris Benoit. He passed today along with his wife and seven year old son. When I first heard of Chris he was in WCW and a member of the 4 Horseman. It was Rick Flair, Arn Anderson, Steve “Mongo” Mc Michael, and Chris Benoit. I was like who are these two schmucks doing with the Horseman. I mean Rick Flair and Double A are hall of famers and theirs these two guys. Now I never really watched WCW much I have always been a WWF guy. I knew about WCW I watched some so I knew who the $ horse men were. I knew Flair, Double A, Tully Blanchard and Ole Anderson. Then even with Barry Windom in place of Ole. I could see Mongo because he was big and use to play pro football. But Benoit was a little guy I thought was lame. I saw him wrestle some and was like EHH. He could wrestle but a lot of guys could. He could not do a shoot. (interview or vignette) I didn’t think nothing of him. Was I wrong. I watched the 60 minute iron man match with Bret “The Hitman” Hart. The match was dedicated to Owen Hart who had died recently in a freak accident. That match was one of the best matches EVER. I learned what a technical wrestler he was. They went back and forth for an hour. Unless you watched it or watched a lot of wrestling matches you can’t describe what you see. I know a LOT of people cant watch wrestling cause its “fake”. Yes its fake the out comes are pre determined and they pull punches, BUT a lot of what they do is REAL and painful. But I digress. I got to see how Chris Benoit was not only a great wrestle he was such a machine in the way he went after the Excellence of Execution. And from there on I got to learn about his career and watched him ever since. Monday Night Raw was cancelled tonight. They did a tribute show. His best matches and wrestlers talking about his life. They all say what I knew and read before in magazines about what a great wrestler he was and what a nice man and great father he was. The police released a statement. It appears to have been a double homicide/suicide. They believe he killed his wife and son over the weekend the killed himself Monday. The autopsies will be Tuesday. Now we will never really know what happened in that house but…somebody could have killed all three of them. It’s possible. And I hope it’s proven so.
